About the Brand
Deliveroo is a UK-founded food delivery platform launched in 2013 by Will Shu. It connects customers to restaurants and grocery stores through its app and website, operating across more than 800 towns and cities in the UK and Ireland alongside several international markets. The service partners with over 140,000 restaurants and takeaway shops, ranging from independent local spots to high-street chains such as KFC, Wagamama, Pizza Express, Byron, and others. Beyond restaurant meals, the platform covers grocery and retail delivery through partnerships with supermarkets including Sainsbury’s and Morrisons.
The ordering process works on a postcode-driven model. Enter your location and Deliveroo shows every eatery and store within delivery distance, covering cuisines from pizza and fish and chips to sushi, Indian, and Italian dishes. There is also a Pickup option for those who prefer to collect. Delivery fees depend on location and are sometimes set by the restaurant rather than Deliveroo itself. A small order surcharge applies if your basket falls below a restaurant-set minimum — though the promo codes on this page can bring your total down or offset the fee entirely.
Deliveroo Plus is the platform’s membership programme, available in Silver and Gold tiers. It removes delivery fees on eligible orders and unlocks exclusive member offers, plus access to the Deliveroo Rewards programme for repeat savings at favourite restaurants. NHS and key workers qualify for a free 12-month Silver membership, and verified students get up to three years of Silver at no cost. The codes listed on this page cover first orders, selected-account promotions, and grocery savings — combine them with the in-app Offers tab for the best value on your next delivery.
How to use
Shopping Guide
When is the best time to order from Deliveroo?
We have noticed that Deliveroo tends to push its strongest percentage-off codes (like 30% and 40% off) during quieter periods — midweek evenings and early-week lunchtimes in particular. Weekend demand is higher, so promotions are less generous. If your schedule allows, ordering on a Tuesday or Wednesday often yields better savings. The Offers tab on the app is worth checking each time you open it, as local deals rotate frequently and some disappear within hours.
How do student and NHS discounts compare?
Both groups get free Deliveroo Plus Silver, but the benefits differ slightly. NHS and key worker staff receive a free 12-month membership via a unique code, with no ongoing renewal — they would need to reapply when it expires. Students get up to three years of free Silver with no auto-renewal, but must be enrolled in higher education and pass verification. The student offer includes free delivery thresholds of £15 for restaurants and £25 for stores, while NHS members get free delivery on all eligible orders regardless of basket size. If you qualify for both, claim the student deal first for the longer coverage window.
Can I stack multiple savings methods?
You can only apply one promo code per order, so choose the one that gives the biggest discount for your basket value. But codes are not the only way to save. The Offers tab shows location-specific deals that apply automatically — some of these run alongside your code. Deliveroo Plus members also benefit from reduced delivery fees and exclusive Plus-only promotions. When we tested this with a £22 basket, using a 30% code on a restaurant listed in the Offers tab brought the total down by nearly £10, combining the percentage discount with a free delivery benefit.
What should I watch out for before ordering?
A common issue we see is that minimum spend thresholds catch people out. Codes like 7OFFMAY require £30, while others sit at £15 or £25 — and the minimum is calculated after the discount is applied, so a £16 basket with a 50% code falls below a £15 threshold. Delivery fees also vary by location and are sometimes set by the restaurant itself, not Deliveroo. If you are ordering from a chain with multiple branches, check whether a different location offers lower fees for the same menu. And remember: most codes are region-specific, so a deal that works at your postcode might not apply to a friend across town.
