About the Brand
West Midland Safari Park, open since 1973 in Bewdley, Worcestershire, is a drive-through safari and theme park owned by the Looping Group. Its four-mile trail winds past over 140 species — white rhino, cheetah, giraffe, elephant — all viewed from your car. A full adventure theme park, Land of the Living Dinosaurs, Ice Age exhibit, and African Village round out the day.
Online advance tickets start at £20.50 for adults and £19.50 for pre-schoolers, substantially less than gate prices. Under-threes go free. All online bookings include a free return visit within six months, though school holidays and event days are excluded. Groups of 10 or more can save up to 40%.
Annual Passes come in three tiers: Silver (£79pp), Gold (£99pp), and Ultimate (£249pp). Silver covers 12-month entry, Gold adds discounts on food and retail, Ultimate unlocks VIP experiences, free ride wristbands, and up to 20 discounted Friends & Family tickets. Gift cards from £10, newsletter-exclusive offers, and seasonal events like Santa Safari add more ways to save.
With free returns, pass perks, and early-booking discounts, a trip doesn’t need to break the bank. The deals on this page are the ones we’re tracking right now — and they change with the seasons.
How to use
Shopping Guide
When’s the cheapest time to visit West Midland Safari Park?
Winter, particularly January to mid-February, usually brings the lowest ticket prices — often under £20 when many outdoor rides close. April is the busiest month for page visits, but early-bird advance booking can still lock in decent rates. Weekdays outside school holidays are consistently cheaper than weekends. If you’re not fussed about ride access, a frosty safari trip can be brilliant value.
How do I get the best value from multiple visits?
For two visits within six months, just book advance tickets both times and you’ll get a free return on the first booking — effectively two trips for the price of one. If you’ll go three or more times, an Annual Pass pays off. Silver covers entry alone, Gold adds food and retail discounts, and Ultimate includes ride wristbands. Run the numbers: a family of four visiting four times can save over £200 with passes.
What’s the catch with the free return ticket?
It’s only on online advance bookings, and the free visit must be taken within six months. School holidays, bank holidays, and special event days are excluded, and it doesn’t cover ride wristbands, Safari Tours, or VR experiences. So it’s essentially a way to get a free park-entry day — great for a chilled repeat visit, not for a high-thrill summer day.
Can I stack my Blue Light Card discount with other offers?
No. Blue Light Card, Defence Discount Service, and similar partner schemes typically take around 7% off standard admission, but you can’t combine them with other promo codes or deals. They apply to park entry only — no wristbands or extras. Use the saving calculator on the park’s site to see the final price before you commit.
Annual Pass vs pay-as-you-go — which wins?
We’ve broken it down for a typical family of four making different numbers of visits:
| Visits per year | Pay-as-you-go cost (two adults, two kids, advance tickets) | Silver Pass cost (4 passes) | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 visits | ~£140 (including one free return) | £316 | Pay-as-you-go cheaper |
| 3 visits | ~£210 | £316 | Pass still pricier unless you add Gold perks |
| 4 visits | ~£280 | £316 | Pass edges ahead with convenience |
| 5+ visits | £350+ | £316 | Pass is the clear winner |
Our rule of thumb: if you’re local and can pop in on quiet weekdays, the Silver Pass quickly earns its keep. For out-of-towners, pay-as-you-go with advance booking and the free return usually wins.
