About the Brand
Emirates is the flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates, operating from its hub at Dubai International Airport and serving more than 130 destinations across six continents. Founded in 1985 as part of The Emirates Group, it has grown into one of the world’s largest international airlines and the biggest operator of the Airbus A380, alongside a substantial Boeing 777 fleet (citation:2). The airline consistently ranks among the top performers at the Skytrax World Airline Awards and is widely regarded for its onboard product across all cabin classes (citation:2).
Passengers can choose from Economy, Premium Economy, Business, and First Class. Economy tickets come with a standard 32-inch seat pitch, complimentary meals and drinks, and one of the most generous checked baggage allowances in the industry — every economy fare includes at least one checked bag and carry-on luggage (citation:2). Premium Economy sits above that as a meaningful step up in comfort, particularly on longer routes, though pricing reflects the upgrade. Business and First Class passengers enjoy access to premium airport lounges, chauffeur-driven transfers at select destinations, and lie-flat seating on widebody aircraft (citation:2).
Emirates also runs the Skywards loyalty programme, which is free to join and earns members Miles on Emirates and flydubai flights, plus through a network of partner airlines, hotels, and retailers (citation:5)(citation:6). Miles can be redeemed for reward flights, cabin upgrades, hotel stays, and event tickets, and remain valid for three years (citation:5). The Cash+Miles option lets passengers split payment between money and Miles, earning 50% bonus Miles when used with travel partners (citation:3)(citation:4). For layovers of eight to 26 hours in economy or six to 26 hours in business class — where no earlier connection exists — Emirates covers a complimentary hotel, transfers, meals, and a UAE visa through its Dubai Connect service (citation:2).
The deals on this page cover Emirates’ most popular routes with year-round automatic pricing, and signing up to the newsletter can unlock additional time-limited offers. Between these and the Cash+Miles options for Skywards members, there are several ways to bring the cost of your next trip down.
How to use
Shopping Guide
I’m planning a trip and want to make sure I’m getting the best possible deal — here’s what I’ve picked up about booking with Emirates.
When’s the best time to book? Emirates’ biggest discounts land during Black Friday and January sales, so if your travel dates are flexible, waiting for one of those windows is worth it. Boxing Day is another strong period. Outside of these, keep an eye on the automatic deals listed above — they cover popular routes year-round and the pricing can be surprisingly competitive, particularly on return fares to Dubai and Bangkok.
Should I bother with Emirates Skywards? If you fly more than once or twice a year, absolutely. The programme is free to join and you earn Miles on every Emirates and flydubai flight, plus through partner airlines and retail partners. Miles are valid for three years, which gives you genuine flexibility to accumulate enough for a reward flight or upgrade. The Cash+Miles feature lets you pay part-cash, part-Miles, and you’ll earn 50% bonus Miles when using partner services — a detail many people miss.
Can I combine the student discount with other offers? Emirates offers a 10% student discount on economy and business fares using the code STUDENT, but only one code can be used per booking. If a general promo code gives you more than 10% off your specific route, that’s the better choice. We’d recommend checking both before you commit.
Is the newsletter worth subscribing to? Yes. Emirates occasionally releases time-limited codes that only come through email, and these sometimes beat the deals you’ll find on third-party sites. Combined with the automatic offers on this page, you’ve got a solid chance of saving on your next booking.
